I studied Painting at art college. In my final year I started to make abstract, wall hung, monochrome coloured constructions. After graduating, these objects leant against my studio wall and I became curious about the colours in the shadow on the walls behind them, fading or intensifying as daylight levels in and outside the room fluctuated.

My desire to ‘show and tell’ about this re-reflected colour grew. It increased after raising three children who shared with me a simple delight in looking hard at everything and making discoveries. My aim now is to make pieces that inspire curiosity in both the material and the immaterial, by illuminating surfaces with manipulated daylight. Despite a global energy crisis, daylight is being overlooked.

Inspiration for forms comes from diverse sources such as architecture, poetry, packaging, theatre, music and gardening.

I live and work in rural mid Wales.
